Todd Strain is an award winning journalist currently splitting his time between the sports department and the weekly Down to Earth franchise on NBC 7. He joined the station in 2011.

Strain has worked in many roles in NBC 7 including Sports reporting, anchoring sports, news reporting. In addition, he has also been a multi-media journalist, produced sports and producing half-hour Down to Earth specials. Strain has done all these and more.

He Currently splits his time between the sports department and the weekly Down to Earth franchise.

Before coming to San Diego, he worked in KGET Bakersfield, California for a decade as a sports director. Additionally, Strain worked in KEYT Channel 3, Santa Barbara for 3 years as a sports producer and reporter. He also worked in ABC sports as a sports anchor for about 2 and a half years.

Strain graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history from University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition, he is pursuing a Digital Media Marketing Professional Certificate in San Diego State University. He lives in Carlsbad, California with his wife and two children.
