Sierra Fox Biography
Sierra Fox is a skilled journalist currently working as a weekend evening anchor and nightside reporter for Fox 5 DC. She joined the station in November 2020 as a reporter and fill-in anchor.

Sierra Fox Career
Fox in FOX 5 DC currently solo anchors the Saturday and Sunday newscasts: 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm (3+ hours each night). In addition, she reports nightside 3 days per week for 10 pm and 11 pm newscasts. Fox is a host of “Crime In The DMV” on Fox Local, she records a new episode each week.
Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Fox was the lead nightside reporter and fill-in anchor at ABC 8News in Richmond, Virginia for nearly three years. She enterprised original story ideas and investigative pieces. In addition, Fox reported on one or more stories live daily for 5 pm, 5:30 pm, 6 pm, and 11 pm newscast. She convinced reluctant people to grant exclusive and revealing interviews as well as engaged with viewers using social media. Furthermore, Fox was big contributor to the success of station’s recognition for the following awards: Regional Edward R. Murrow Award Winners and Associate Press (AP) Awards 2020.
Before that, she worked at WDVM-TV (formerly WHAG) as a reporter in Winchester, Virginia for over a year. Fox pitched original and compelling story ideas, shot, wrote, and edited several stories daily for all newscasts. In addition, she set up live shots with TVU One or Live-U backpack and grew a network of community contacts and sources through effective relationship building. Fox wrote web scripts and used social media to engage with viewers. Furthermore, she interviewed Senator Tim Kaine, Governor Terry McAuliffe and Bishop of Arlington. The stories aired on WRIC in Richmond and WFXR in Roanoke, Virginia. She was the employee of the Month in March 2017.

Fox also interned for Good Morning America in New York City for three months . She also spent ten months as a news production assistant at ABC11 Eyewitness News – WTVD in Durham, North Carolina. Fox worked for almost three years as an anchor and sports reporter for Campbell Now! TV in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
She was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. Fox graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and two minors in Business Marketing and Management from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. She played Division 1 lacrosse her first three years of college – Go Fighting Camels! During her senior year, Fox was a Production Assistant at ABC11 Eyewitness News, voted Homecoming Queen, and received the Senior of the Year award for Broadcasting and Electronic Media. Additionally, she has studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain and interned at WNCN and Raleigh Television Network.
Fox is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists, and Founding Sister of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority.
She is excited to be in the nation’s capital and loves meeting new people and connecting with viewers. In her spare time, Fox enjoys immersing herself into the community by attending events, traveling, eating, and of course dancing!
