Shannon Miller Biography
Shannon Miller is an award winning journalist currently working as a morning anchor on NBC Connecticut on weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. She co-anchors alongside co-anchor Heidi Voight and Storm Tracker meteorologist Bob Maxon. Miller joined the station in June 2017.

She has been a recipient of multiple accolades during her journalism career, including both an Edward R. Murrow and Emmy Award for her anchoring and investigative reporting.
Miller has been a contributor on Dateline for her extensive reporting on the high-profile murder and disappearance of New Canaan mother of five Jennifer Dulos. In addition, she also contributed to Dateline for her coverage of the murder of Ellington resident Connie Debate. As well as the murder and kidnapping of realtor Beverly Carter from her time in Little Rock, Arkansas.
In 2022, Miller was the first to interview Sandy Hook mom Scarlett Lewis one-on-one after the verdict in the defamation case against Alex Jones in Texas.
Prior to joining NBC Connecticut, she was an anchor and reporter at KARK/FOX61 in Little Rock, Arkansas for almost three years. Miller anchored weekend evening newscast and regularly filled in as anchor on weekday morning and evening newscasts. In addition, she was lead reporter for weekday nightside newscasts and led and broke major developments on the Beverly Carter kidnapping and
murder case. Furthermore, Miller secured exclusive jailhouse interview with the suspect and appeared on both Dateline and Discovery ID Web of Lies to provide perspective and context to the case. She also reported live on The Weather Channel’s AMHQ showing severe winter weather conditions.

Before Arkansas, Miller had spent almost four years as a morning anchor in KOLR10/KOZL in Springfield, Missouri. She anchored 4+ hours of news daily on weekday morning and midday newscasts. In addition, Miller field anchored coverage of one-year anniversary of Joplin, MO EF-5 tornado. She also reported breaking news and enterprised health stories.
Miller began her journalism career in KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas as a reporter and fill-in anchor for two years. She reported general assignments and breaking news for weekday evening newscasts. In addition, Miller reported live on the ground hours after Joplin, MO EF-5 tornado and filled in as anchor for all newscasts
She graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa with Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2009.
Miller was born and raised in the Dallas Fort Worth area, Texas. In her free time, she enjoys running Connecticut’s many trails and exploring New England’s beauty!
