Mekahlo Medina Biography
Mekahlo Medina is an award winning journalist currently working as a reporter for NBC4 News at 3,4,5 and 6 p.m. He leads the Long Beach bureau and covers Mexico too.

Mekahlo Medina Career
He has received the Emmy Award six times since he joined NBC4 in 2006. Medina is a bilingual journalist with over 21 years experience. He has worked in various roles such as weekend morning anchor, technology editor and digital news anchor. Medina joined the station as an anchor and manager of “News Raw” the first news digital channel in the country. The channel concentrated on hyper local news reporting, culture, technology and social media.
Before joining NBC4, Medina served as a general assignment reporter for KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, KPNX-TV in Phoenix, and NBC television affiliates, KOB-TV in Albuquerque, and KTSM in El Paso.
He is the Executive Director of CCNMA, Latino Journalists of California. Medina was also the former national president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and is a member of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association.
Medina graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from New Mexico State University.
