Mario Solis Biography
Mario Solis is an award-winning weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter at NBC4. He reports on the 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Mario Solis Career
He has more than twenty years of sports broadcasting experience. Solis has reported nearly every significant event such as the Olympic Games and the World cup. He has also covered countless World Series and Super Bowl games. In addition to working as a sports anchor and reporter at NBC4, he is also acknowledged as the Spanish-Language announcer. Solis announces HBO’s iconic “World Championship Boxing” series as well as he is the play-by-play announcer for both Los Angeles Rams and Chargers. He announces for both teams on different stations ESPN radio 1330 AM and KFWB-AM 980.
Before joining NBC4, he worked as a sportscaster for Telemundo Network and also NBC4’s sister station Telemundo 52. Additionally, Solis was also an executive producer and host on various network and local programs. Such as “Marcador Final” which was the longest running and highest rated sports wrap-up show in Los Angeles.
He started his broadcasting career as a field producer working on the assignment desk at KCBS in Los Angeles. Solis then moved to NBC4 as an editorial assistant. Univision spotted and pursued Solis to join their company as a network news sports anchor. He later went back to Telemundo 52 until he joined NBC4 in his current role.

In addition, Solis has also been a host/analyst for Major League Baseball telecasts on Telemundo 52. He has been a play-by-play announcer for boxing telecasts on HBO.HBO PPV, Showtime, Fox Sports and FS1.
Solis has been a recipient of countless accolades for his work and efforts as part of a sports broadcasting team. He has won numerous awards such as local Area Emmys and Golden Mikes. Solis also received a regional Edward R. Murrow award for Best Sports Reporting. He is recognized by the National Hispanic Media Coalition for excellence in broadcast journalism. Solis remains active in the Los Angeles-area community.
