Marianne Favro Biography
Marianne Favro is an Emmy award-winning journalist currently working as a general assignment reporter at NBC Bay Area. During her first five years in the station, she anchored the morning show.
Marianne Favro Career
Favro was nominated by The Associated Press as the Reporter of the Year for 2006. She is also a recipient of the Surgeon General’s Award for Best Medical Reporting. In addition, Favro has won five Emmy awards. One Emmy was for a story about Stanford medical students working with horses to learn how to improve patient skills. Her most recent Emmy was for her coverage of the Oakland, California Ghost Ship warehouse fire.
Most recently, she was one of the only broadcast journalists awarded the “Knight Fellowship”. The award is to attend a special program for journalists at the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Favro enjoys many aspects of her job such as meeting new people, always learning and providing important information hence making a difference.
Furthermore, she has other professional achievements such as a Golden Microphone Award for Best Newscast which she anchored and produced. In addition, Favro has also won the Best Serious Feature Award for a profile of a local Titanic survivor from the Radio and Television News Directors Association (RTNDA).

Before joining NBC Bay Area, she worked in San Luis Obispo, California as an anchor and reporter for seven years. Favro started her career at a news radio station as an anchor and reporter in Santa Barbara, California. In addition, in her first five years in NBC Bay Area, she anchored the morning show.
While she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Kent, daughter Sophia and her twin sons Connor and Nolan. In addition, Favro also enjoys travelling, mountain bike riding , scuba driving and running.
She completed a marathon raising money for the Leukemia Society, uniting her devotion for the community and her love of running. In addition, Favro volunteers for the American Hearts Association, The Diabetes Society and the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.
