Eric Mock Biography
Eric Mock is an award-winning journalist currently working as a reporter for FOX 5 Atlanta since June 2023. He has passion for accountability journalism, breaking news and telling personal stories of the people in his community.
Eric Mock Career
Prior to joining FOX 5 , Mock was working at KATU Channel 2 News in Portland, Oregon as a reporter and fill-in anchor for nearly two years. There he was known for his engaging live reports. Mock further held city and county leaders accountable on issues like the homelessness crisis and rising gun violence.
Before his time in Portland, he worked as a news reporter for Spectrum News 13 in Orlando, Florida for three years. There Mock was able to cover exciting events like the opening of Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World and the first manned NASA rocket launch in a decade. In addition, his work showing how the COVID-19 pandemic was impacting students won an award for long-form reporting from the Florida Associate Press (AP).
Previously, he began his journalism career as a broadcast journalist in Macon, Georgia where he served as weekend anchor and reporter at Sinclair Broadcast Group WGXA News for about three years. Mock was a recipient of multiple awards from the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for his creative feature storytelling.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with a focus in Broadcast Journalism from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in 2015. While in school, Mock worked as an anchor and reporter and his long form reporting earned him the 2015 Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Student National Mark of Excellence Award. In addition, he worked as a news intern in KTVX/ABC 4 News in Salt Lake City, Utah for several months in 2014.
Mock is committed to continuous growth and has pursued various continuing education opportunities. Such as storytelling seminars with renowned journalists Boyd Huppert and Al Tompkins. Furthermore, Mock has attended workshops such as the Sound Of Life Storytelling Workshop.
When he is not busy at work , you can catch him on a hiking trail with his incredible wife of over a decade, or at a local comics shop.
