Colleen Williams is an award-winning journalist currently working as a co-anchor for NBC4 News on weekdays at 5, 7 and 11 p.m. She joined the station in 1986.

Williams is an award-winning journalist for more than 30 years. She is a recipient of several industry honors, such as countless Golden Mike and Emmy Awards. She received a Golden Mike for team coverage of the Chatsworth train crash. In addition, Williams has also been awarded an L.A Emmy and Golden Mike for her work on NBC4’s special ‘LA Riots: Rubble to Rebirth.’ Additionally, she received a Golden Mike and Associated Press Award for reporting the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games Centennial Park bombing. The award was for ‘Best Live Coverage of a News Story.’ Williams was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Radio & Television News Association.

Williams was especially visible during the trial of the century – the O.J Simpson case which she reported for NBC4 and MSNBC. She anchored a daily report of the trial. After the case, she took anchor reins for NBC4 News at 11 p.m. in 1995. Williams assembled Southern California’s most trusted and powerful news team in the market to this day. She teams up with Co-Anchor Chuck Henry and Sports Anchor Fred Roggin.

Williams has reported numerous breaking news stories – including two pope visits, earthquakes and terrorist attacks. In addition, she has covered Los Angeles riots and the many infamous car chases that make Southern California unique.

When she is not at work, Williams is passionate about many social causes affecting Southern Californians. For more than two decades, she has supported Casa del Las Amigas -a residential home for women overcoming addiction. In addition, she holds her longstanding Colleen Williams Gold Tournament, a popular annual tradition. The tournament continues to raise awareness for the community it serves. Additionally, for two decades, Williams has assisted the Rape Crisis Center in Riverside to bring attention to reducing domestic abuse cases in the Inland empire.

She was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and moved across the US and Canada as an Air Force “brat.” Williams has been married for 33 years and met her husband, Jon Dudley an Air Force Officer while covering the Persian Gulf War. Their son, Sean, graduated from Loyola Marymount University recently.

She is an avid hockey fan – Go Kings! inspired by her husband and son who played hockey competitively in school. Her devotion to the sport is a favorite family pastime. Williams also enjoys football and had things turned out differently, she would have probably been a sports reporter.

Williams graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She started her professional life working in radio and television at Magnet High School. Her goal was to write and produce and she had no intention to be in front of the camera. But luckily for us, her journey led her into millions of homes bringing the world closer through compelling news coverage.
