Christine Sperow Biography
Christine Sperow is an award winning journalist currently working as an anchor for FOX 5 News at 4 p.m. and also co-anchors FOX 5 News Edge at 11 p.m. with anchor Tom Haynes. She joined the station in March 2020.
Christine Sperow Career
Prior to joining FOX 5 Atlanta, Sperow spent 11 years as a morning anchor at WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina. During her time in North Carolina, she won multiple Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards and The Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas (RTDNAC) Awards. In addition, Sperow also won National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Awards. Furthermore, she anchored coverage of numerous breaking news events in Charlotte, from devastating hurricanes and winter storms, to news events that made national headlines like the funeral of Reverend Billy Graham. Sperow also anchored the Charleston church shooting, even the city’s sendoff when the Carolina Panthers went to Super Bowl 50.
In addition, she has interviewed the likes of President Donald Trump, former First Lady Laura Bush and then-Senator Barack Obama during his first presidential campaign. Sperow is proud of keeping the public informed with accurate information about what’s going on in their community. Being rooted in the community she lives in is also important. In Charlotte, Sperow led the station’s campaign for seven years raising millions of dollars for children fighting pediatric cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Before WBTV, she worked as an anchor and reporter at KLTV in Tyler, Texas for nearly five years. Sperow also spent almost three years at WABG in Greenville, Mississippi as an anchor and reporter. She began her journalism career in ABC Radio in Atlanta, Georgia for about two years as a Director of Operations/ Radio Disney. Sperow is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

She is a proud University of Georgia graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication in 1998. Sperow was also a student-athlete playing on University of Georgia women’s volleyball team. After graduation, she lived in Atlanta for a few years before hopping around the country to start her journalism career. Sperow is excited to be back in Atlanta where her parents and siblings now also reside.
She is married to her husband, William and they have two children: Daughter, Camryn, son, William III, and pet Yorkie, Georgia II. As a family they play and watch lots of sports, and love rooting for the Dawgs during college football season!
