Christian Cázares Biography
Christian Cázares is a dedicated bilingual journalist and storyteller who is currently working at NBC4 News as a general assignment reporter on weekdays at 3 p.m, 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. He joined the KNBC in May 2023.
Christian Cázares Career
Cazares reports in both English and Spanish for NBC owned stations coast to coast, including NBC10/WCAU and Philadephia Telemundo 62/WWSI where he reported on significant news events like the election in 2016 on the presidential debates between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, 2015 papal visit by Pope Francis in Philadelphia and also worked as the South Jersey Bureau reporter.
He covered the devastation in Miami Hurricane Irma for NBC6/WTVJ, the NBC Bay Area destructive Napa wildfires, the Atlantic City casino downfall and also some of the most notable terror attack investigations in New Jersey and New York City. He was the weekday anchor at the CBS Station in Las Vegas, KLAS before joining NBC4 and was also reporter in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as Philadelphia, New Jersey and San Diego before joining KLAS.

Cázares has been appreciated with several industry awards among others 11 Emmy’s for top coverage in investigative, crime and education categories plus a national award by the society of professional journalist and acknowledgement from the California state senate overall best newscast in the region.
Cazares bilingual skills have enabled him to expand NBC4 news coverage to the Spanish-speaking community with the 8News Now ‘En Espanol’ social media brand.
He has served on the Board of the Pacific Southwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and been recognized for his journalistic career by the NAACP, the Society of Professional Journalists, the San Diego Press Club, Congress and the Senate.
He was born and raised in San Diego, California and received his bachelor’s degree in Teledramatic Arts & Technology from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2005. When he is not in the newsroom, he explores the Los Angeles culinary scene or goes to the beach and hiking with his family and two dogs.
