Chad Ricardo Biography
Chad Ricardo is a skilled sports journalist currently working as a freelance reporter and anchor for FOX 5 DC. He joined the station in September 2022.

Chad Ricardo Career
Ricardo’s passion is covering sports and his mission is uplifting the community and in short he is living the dream. He also serves as a stand-alone media consultant to the National Football League (NFL’s) Accelerator program since December 2023. His primary objective lies in assisting potential Head Coach and GM candidates prepare for future opportunities. He further does so by creating mock scenarios they may one day face and subsequently conducting mock press conferences and one-on-one interviews with the subjects.
Prior to joining FOX 5 DC, Ricardo also works as a Howard University play by play and show host for Howard University since December 2021. He is the Play-by-Play host of Howard University athletics and host of Coach’s Corner, Bison talk show. In addition, Ricardo has worked as a master of ceremonies and multimedia professional for Washington Talent Agency for nearly sixteen years. He spent almost three years as a color analyst for Monumental Sports & Entertainment covering their top games and largest events.
Furthermore, Ricardo worked over a year as the Host of Hi Def High School on ABC-7 in Baltimore, Washington D.C. He also spent almost two years as a multimedia journalist for NBC Sports Washington in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition, Ricardo was a host and producer for FOX Sports for over two years. He hosted and produced “The Ricardo Report”, High School Sports and Hip-Hop @FoxSports1340am.
Chad Ricardo FOX 5 DC
Ricardo began his career as a lead broadcast journalist at SEN for over a year. He undertook a bevy of responsibilities including but not limited to, anchoring a studio show and conducting on-site interview. In addition, Ricardo also wrote articles, provided color analysis for live sporting events and produced voice overs for highlights and evaluated athletes as a primary scouter would.
Ricardo was born and raised in Hampton, Virginia. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts and Design, Producing and Directing from James Madison University in 2006. For over a decade, Ricardo has used his platform to uplift athletes of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV). By building his own brand, The Ricardo Report, he has specialized in showcasing youth and high school sports, creating organic connections throughout the region.
Additionally, Ricardo has made it a priority to cover today’s stars before the masses know their names. He first interviewed the stars as teenagers, a Heisman trophy winner and Gonzaga College High School alum and Caleb Williams of the University of Southern California, DeMatha Catholic alum. Ricardo also interviewed Chase Young of the Commanders or St. Frances’ Blake Corum, the University of Michigan’s top-rated running back.
At FOX 5, his show, ‘In the Sports’ allows the station to take coverage of high school and collegiate student-athletes to a level never witnessed in the DMV. In addition, ‘Game Time’, provides in-depth pre-game analysis of the Washington Commanders as they pursue their ultimate goals.
