Belen De Leon is a member of the award winning weather group that has won Most Accurate Weather Team for six successive years in Southern California by Weatherate. She is currently working as a meteorologist for NBC4 Today in LA weekdays at 4 to 7 a.m.
Belen De Leon Career
De Leon’s flexibility and passion for local news and weather led her more than 15 years ago to broadcast television. In addition, She started as a television host for various entertainment shows then moved to radio and news in South Texas KNVO-TV .
De Leon covered the weather in English and Spanish when she was in Texas from 2007-2011 and in 2018 Hurricane Dolly coverage. She joined Denver’s NBC station , KUSA-TV in 2012 as a meteorologist. De Leon for the weekday and weekend newscast predicting snowstorms, extreme weather and wildfires. She became a very familiar face in the community there.
She earned her Meteorology certification from Mississippi State Univeristy and also received the National Weather Association Seal of Approval too.
De Leon was a member of a Regional Mexican Band, performing on the road prior to her career as a meteorologist. Furthermore, her band La Onda earned two Latin Billboard Music Awards and she still enjoys singing til today. However, when she is home she explores the Los Angeles area and spends time with her husband and three children.
