Allison Ash Biography
Allison Ash is an award winning journalist currently working as an investigative reporter for NBC 7, San Diego. She joined the station in 2019.
Allison Ash Career
Ash was born and raised in Orange County, California. She loves the laid back spirit of San Diego and its world class beaches.
Her journalism career has taken her to Columbus, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Fresno. She worked in Greenville, North Carolina in her first job shooting and editing her own news stories.
Prior to joining NBC 7, She worked as small business owner, The Wrapper a pop up Christmas store. Ash also worked in KGTV 10 News, San Diego’s ABC affiliate station for about 8 years. In addition, she worked as an anchor and reporter for Channel 3 Garden Glove.
Furthermore, She worked in KGPE TV, a CBS affiliate station in Fresno, California as an investigative team reporter. Additionally, she reported for KFSN TV in Fresno. Before that, Ash reported and anchored for WCMH TV in Columbus, Ohio.
For several years, Ash has worked as an investigative reporter, uncovering rip offs, fraud and wrongdoing on every level. One of her most memorable story resulted in the reunion of a mother and her three children, which included a multi-state flight on a Lear jet.
In addition, her reporting has taken her to a refugee camp in Thailand, to post Katrina New Orleans and beyond.
She is a recipient of multiple awards for her reporting, such as an Emmy, but her favorite award was the Media Watchdog Award. From the San Diego County Taxpayers Association for a story about the misuse of a sheriff’s vehicle and gas credit card by a department employee.
Ash graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from The University of Southern California. Fight-On!
When she is not at work, Ash enjoys travelling, theatre, fine dining, red wine, dark chocolate, her family and dogs.
